"4 Little Kiesha's and Counting..."
Atlanta, Ga March 2013
To my Beautiful Beasts: (beautiful people who are beastly on the court),
Just a quick note to let you know what is going on in my world. As you know summer camp is right around the corner and we are preparing for you athletes each and every day. Taking on new athletes not only means I'm teaching but I am learning so much more. Its funny, once you become an adult you want to learn more than you were as an adolecent student. Moral of this story: Never attempt to be bigger than the game. Learn your craft, hone in on your skills and enjoy the journey.
Recently, I had the humbling priviledge to speak to the Wooodward Academy Lower school and it was great to tell my story to them. I asked if they knew me and everyone's hand was held high. Most said "You play basketball." One kid even told on himself admitting, "You beat me in one on one." Sharing with them my story was very different. I expressed to them the ups and downs of my career with some teams I never really mentioned in detail before. More importantly I explained "the life" is not all about the bling. Its hard work and persistance that make being a professional athlete totally worth the sacrifice.
I encourage you, if you think or know professional sports is your ultimate goal, remember with much risk (sacrifice) there is much reward if invested correctly. GO FOR IT! But keep God first, get your education, and have Plan B in mind and ready for action. See you soon!
-Kiesha Brown
P.S. Our camps are a great way to compete against new competition and make great friends. You can get the skills desired at a high impact no matter what level. You will have fun because I love to have fun!Contact bankshotbball@gmail.com for information.
